Summer 2020
National Protest
Empty food shelves in grocery stores and the lack of toilet
paper in stock, marked the very beginning of the pandemic in the
US under lockdown. During the first summer of the COVID-19
pandemic, protests erupted in cities across the US after a police
officer killed an unarmed African-American. “I Can’t Breathe” and “Say His Name” became the rallying cries of protesters after
the death of George Floyd. Racial inequality, police brutality
and economic inequality were issues highlighted during the
health crisis.
